“MR CREATIVITY”
- The Economist
“AN INNOVATION LEGEND”
- Open Innovation Lab of Norway

The Economist called me “Mr. Creativity” and a “serial innovator.” I have shared my knowledge of creativity and entrepreneurship as a Harvard Business School professor for 14 years. I’ve also taught at the MIT Media Lab, Stanford's Bowman House Executive Programs, the US Naval Postgraduate School, and Yale's School of Engineering and Applied Science.
I am a successful high tech entrepreneur (founder of ThayerMahan, Inc.) and a Tony Award nominated producer of feature films and theater. I also played keyboards for Frank Zappa and the original Mothers of Invention.
I have explored what leaders can learn from jazz musicians in my book Jamming and what it takes for a country to innovate in Innovation Nation. I take pleasure is working with principals of all kinds who are on the hot seat to deliver a meaningful agenda for innovation.
